2. Data collected
Through the brochure request form: first and last name, email address, phone number (optional), intended arrival date, number of people, type of home and budget, employment situation, and the message you write.
Through the free guide form: your email address, the page from which you requested the guide and the date of the request.
During an assignment: the supporting documents Dutch letting agents require (identity, income, employment contract), the information needed for the search, and the bank details needed for invoicing.
Audience measurement: the site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies and builds no profile. The associated technical data (page viewed, country, device type) is processed by Cloudflare, Inc., a company established in the United States.
Form protection: a non-reversible fingerprint of your IP address is kept for one hour to limit abusive submissions. Brochure requests are sent by email and not stored on the web server; free guide sign-ups are kept there in a folder that cannot be reached from the internet, within the limits set out below.
3. Purposes and legal bases
- Answering your brochure request — your consent
- Sending you the free guide, then three emails with tips over the following three weeks — your consent, given when you request the guide and withdrawable at any time through the unsubscribe link in every email
- Carrying out the assignment you entrust to me — performance of the contract
- Issuing invoices and keeping accounts — Dutch legal obligation
- Measuring site audience anonymously — legitimate interest
No unsolicited marketing: apart from the three emails that follow the free guide, we only write to you if you contact us.
4. Retention periods
- Enquiries with no follow-up: 12 months
- Free guide sign-ups: 12 months at most from the request, deleted immediately if you unsubscribe, and emails stop as soon as you write to us through the contact form
- Assignment files: duration of the assignment, then 7 years (Dutch accounting requirement)
- IP address fingerprint from the form: 1 hour
5. Recipients
Your data is never sold or traded. It is shared with letting agents and landlords with your agreement and for your search only, with OVH SAS which hosts the site and mailboxes, with Cloudflare, Inc. for audience measurement alone, and with my accountant and the Dutch tax authorities to meet my legal obligations.
6. Transfers outside the European Union
Form data, free guide sign-ups and emails are hosted by OVH SAS in France. Audience measurement involves Cloudflare, Inc. (United States), on the basis of the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
7. Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, port and object to the processing of your data, and to withdraw your consent at any time. Use the contact form (publisher's address: contact [at] amsterdamrelocation.com) and you will receive a reply within one month.
You may lodge a complaint with the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
8. Cookies
The site sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. The audience measurement described above works without cookies.
